Sorry, das habe ich jetzt erst richtig gelesen/verstanden ...
Ich glaube nicht, dass das funktioniert weil der WHS intern mit vielen generierten GUID arbeitet ... und die würden sich ändern

Brauchst du die alten Sicherungen denn noch ? Dann solltest du mal in die RestorteOffLog und MountBackup-Logfiulkes mit dem Verbose-Logging schauen und hoffen, dass man daraus erkennt wo das Problem liegt

Nicht alle Backups sind nötig. Aber habe einen meiner Clients komplett zerschossen (Registry ist komplettes chaos... :( ) Daher wollte ich ja wieder einen alten Stand zurück sichern. Ich kann zwar den Client hoch fahren aber meine ganzen Office/Outlook und Visual Studio Registry Einträge sind hinüber. Alle versuche diese zu richten sind wegen Berechtigungsprobleme - trotz Admin Account - gescheitert. Da dies ein Windows 7 Ultimate Client ist und auch noch mein Hauptrechner ist habe ich jetzt echt ein Problem...
Was mich wundert ist das WHS diesen Client immer wieder regelmäßig sichert ohne eine Problem zu melden. Nur das zurück spielen klappt nicht...

ich probier das mal gleich wenn ich zu Hause bin ... die Fehlermeldung sieht so aus, als ob er Platzprobleme hat

und wie viel von den 100GB sind belegt ? Und wie viel Platz ist auf der Platte / den Platten des Clients wo du den Restore versuchst ?

Es geht um mein Laufwerk C auf dem Client. Die Partitionsgröße ist auch 100 GB. Also quasi eine 1:1 Restore soll gemacht werden. Z.Zt habe ich ca 30 GB frei auf C:

Ja, aber leider liegt es daran nicht :( habe gerade ein 100 GB Sicherung auf einem Client mit freien 2 GB erfolgreich bis zur Aufschaltung des Explorers gebracht

Das Aufbauen des virtuellen Laufwerkes scheint sehr stark abhängig von der Anzahl der Dateien zu sein

ich habe noch ein bischen rumprobiert aber leider keine neue Erkenntnis gewonnen :(

:idea: Nur eine ganz blöde Idee, kann es sein, dass auf dem zu restorenden Bereich eine Autostart-Datei liegt :?: (ich habe nämlich mal einen Registry-Tracer mitlaufen lassen und dabei gesehen, dass er beim Mounten des virtuellen Laufwerks auf die Bitmaske zugreift mit der man Autostart beeinflussen kann)

Da es die C Partition ist ist auch eine Autostart-Datei enthalten.

Habe die halbe Nacht herumprobiert. Habe verschiedene VM's erstellt mit Windows 7 und Vista Ultimate.
Kein System konnte die Sicherungen öffnen. Nicht einen einzigen Stand oder irgend eine Partition!!!!!!!! Die einzige Sicherung die geöffnet werden konnte war die Testsicherung vom XP Client von vor 2 Tagen:( Es MUß am WHS liegen!!!

Irgendwas ist wohl heftig schief gegangen auf dem WHS!!! Soweit ich das jetzt sehe sind ALLE meine Client Sicherungen der vergangen Monate unbrauchbar!!!
Es muss eine zentrale Datei/Element sein die wohl Hops gegangen ist - anders kann ich es mir nicht erklären...
Eine Rekonstruktion der Daten ist auch nicht möglich. RestoreCD funktioniert auch nicht!!! Die Fehlermeldungen und Traces sind Irreführend oder Wahllos...
Ein Hardwaredefekt liegt nicht vor!!

Auf jeden Fall ist das ein heftiger Reinfall was die Datensicherung des WHS betrifft. Hätte eine Client Sicherung nicht geklappt hätte ich es ja noch verstehen können - aber von 6 Clients!!! - ALLE STÄNDE - das ist zuviel!! Mein Vertrauen in die Datensicherung des WHS ist absolut verloren gegangen. Ich werde mich wohl nach einer anderen alternative umschauen. Ich kann nicht sagen wie sauer ich bin :evil: :evil: :evil: . Der Hauptgrund warum ich den WHS eingesetzt habe war die Sicherungsmöglichkeit der Clients...!!

Mit Blick auf dein erstes Post werde ich den Verdacht nicht los, dass es irgendetwas mit Bitlocker oder BitLocker to go zu tun hat.

Den leisen Verdacht habe ich auch. Besonders Bitlocker to Go. Wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe so ist diese Funktion neu in Windows 7.
Allerdings funktioniert ja das Lesen der XP Sicherung... Alles sehr merkwürdig... Kann es sein das Windows 7 bei der Sicherung die Daten verschlüsselt??

Hier die Events die ich auch über Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 bekomme. Kannst Du was damit anfangen??

Vista Ultimate bringt jetzt auch den Bitlocker-Treiber Fehler :((
Das muss was anderes sein... Ich probiere nochmal ein Restore mit der CD. Habe mir die Treiber zusammen gebastelt für die CD.
Wenn das nicht geht setze ich den Server komplett neu auf...

OK. RestoreCD hat nicht funktioniert.
Witzig. Während ich mich mit dem Restore des Hauptrechners beschäftigt habe lief eine Sicherung vom Laptop ohne Probleme durch - schade das ich diese nicht öffnen kann!! :evil:
