Hallo zusammen,

ich wollte auf meinem kleinen HomeServer - Eigenbau - Windows Home Server 2011 installieren. Vorher lief der WHSv1 ohne Probleme auf dem Gerät. Ich habe den Inhalt der WHS 2011 DVD auf einen bootfähigen USB-Stick kopiert, weil der Server kein eigenes DVD-Laufwerk besitzt.

Die Installation startet auch. Allerdings kommt es jedes mal zu einem Problem, während der Prozedur "Daten werden expandiert" (oder so ähnlicher Wortlaut). Dort kommt er bis 28%, dann "blitzt" kurz ein schwarzes Fenster auf (Aussehen wie die Eingabeaufforderung) und dann kommt die Meldung, dass die Installation nicht abgeschlossen werden kann, mit dem Link, mir die Log-Datei der Installation anzusehen.

Leider komme ich da nicht wirklich weiter. Informationen zum System:

Mainboard: Gigabyte GA510UD (Atom D510)
RAM: 2GB
Festplatten: 2x 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F1 HD103UJ; 1x Samsung SpinPoint M5P 160GB (HM160HC) als Systemplatte (hängt am IDE-Anschluss des Mainboards)

Achso, während der Installation ist NUR die Systemplatte (Samsung SpinPoint M5P 160GB (HM160HC)) angeschlossen!
Wenn mir da jemand weiterhelfen könnte, wäre ich sehr dankbar

...ich hatte genau dieses Problem auch bei der Installation mit dem USB-Stick! Abhilfe hat bei mir die Installation von der DVD geschaffen. Allerdings dauerte bei mir die Phase 'Daten werden expandiert' auch auffallend lange, bis die Installation fortgeführt wurde. Gruß PS

Alternativ könnten auch die Daten auf dem Stick korrupt sein. Einfach nochmal den Bootstick erstellen. Ggf. einen anderen Stick versuchen. Sonst ein externes DVD LW besorgen.

Auch wäre es möglich, das die tatsächliche Größe der Festplatte einige Bytes unter den geforderten 160GB liegt. Das würde auch zu einem Abbruch führen. Zum Testen vielleicht mal eine andere Platte probieren.
