Hallo,
ich versuche WHS auf einem Dell Dimension 3100 zu installieren. Ich habe eine neue Festplatte (160GB) eingebaut.
Die Installation läuft bis zum Punkt "Abschluss der Installation" und dann kommt ein Fenster: Setupfehler - Speicher wird weiter konfiguriert fehlgeschlagen. Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden (Fehlercode: 0x80070003). Dann kann ich mir ein Protokoll. Als nächstes erscheint der Hinweis "Der Setup-Assistent für Windows Home Server kann nicht abgeschlossen werden". => Fertigstellen => Anschließend startet Windows ohne Probleme und sieht aus wie Windows 2000.
Kann mir jemand einen Tipp geben? Danke!

leider kenne ich den Fehler nicht aus meiner eigenen Praxis. Versuchen wirs mal einzugrenzen:
- Was steht in den Ereignisprotokollen, hier vor allem Fehler bei Anwendungs- und Systemprotokoll (->Start/Systemsteuerung/Verwaltung/Ereignisanzeige)
- Was steht im Installationslog, zu finden unter C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\Anwendungsdaten\Microsoft\Windows Home Server\logs\setup. Hier ist vor allem das whsoobe...log interessant.
Wenn Du im Verzeichnis C:\Programme\Windows Home Server das Programm whsoobe.exe startest, was passiert dann?

{BA126AD1-2166-11D1-B1D0-00805FC1270E}
gewährt. Diese Sicherheitsberechtigung kann mit dem Verwaltungsprogramm für Komponentendienste geändert werden.
Im Anwendungsprotokoll sind nur wenige Warnung markiert.
Es gibt zwei log-Dateien:
q_setup.log:
Eine log-Datei mit dem Namen whsoobe...log gibt es nicht.
Das Verzeichnis C:\Programme\Windows Home Server gibt es gar nicht!

Ich hoffe, das waren die richtigen Antworten. Ich habe das Programm auch versuchsweise auf einem anderen Rechner installiert, aber auch hier der gleiche Fehler.

Ich hoffe, das waren die richtigen Antworten. Ich habe das Programm auch versuchsweise auf einem anderen Rechner installiert, aber auch hier der gleiche Fehler.

bei DELL, wäre es nicht verwunderlich, wenn die "Systemfestplatte" (160 GB) gegen versehentliches Überschreiben geschützt ist, wie dies dann bei der Neuinstallation von WHS geschieht.
Die Mainboards von DELL sind "Eigenkreationen, teils abgespeckte Versionen namhafter Hersteller mit angepasstem BIOS"; dies sollte normalerweise kein Hinderniss sein den WHS aufzusetzen.
Die Systemfestplatte Deines Dell´s widersetzt sich dem Überschreibem mit einem neuen Betriebssystem (WHS), wohl eine hauseigene Sicherung von DELL.

Bei Samsung-HDDs ist das Tool der Wahl "hutil.exe"
gibts auf "www.samsunghdd.com" zum download
Diskette erstellen - Bootreienfolge im Bios anpassen - dann eine LowLevelFormatierung (bitte full auswählen)
nicht Erschrecken das braucht etwas Zeit (bei 160Gb glaube fast ne Stunde)
genaue Beschreibung liefere ich bei Bedarf gerne nach.
vorausgehende Partitionierung mit Fdisk oder PartitionMagic sind nicht nötig - geben eher neue Probleme
macht die WHS-Installation selbstständig

Das finde ich jetzt etwas merkwürdig. Welche Hardware ist denn zwischen den beiden Systemen identisch?Ich hoffe, das waren die richtigen Antworten. Ich habe das Programm auch versuchsweise auf einem anderen Rechner installiert, aber auch hier der gleiche Fehler.
Kannst Du eventuell die Installation mit einem anderen DVD Laufwerk wiederholen?
Und ganz trivial: Ist das DVD Laufwerk richtig als Master oder Slave gejumpert?

Die Festplatte wiedersetzt sich der Installation nicht. Sonst würde bereits die Formatierung scheitern. Da geht was anderes schief.

vielen Dank für die guten Tipps.
Nach dem ich heute Nacht gepostet hatte, habe ich noch mal etwas ausprobiert. Während der Rechner bootete und das Logo Windows Server 2003 erschien, habe ich erneut die DVD eingelegt. Daraufhin wurde das Setup vollständig ausgeführt und alles funktionierte perfekt. Ich habe den Rechner mehrmals heruntergefahren und neugestartet. Aber heute morgen will der Rechner nicht mehr starten "no boot device available". Bootreihenfolge ist: 1. Onboard SATA Hard Drive, 2. Onboard or USB CD-Rom Drive. Im BIOS wird die Festplatte angezeigt und auch als "present" gekennzeichnet.
Die Festplatte ist nicht die original Dell-HDD, sondern aus meinem Fundus und da lief sie bis vor ein paar Tagen ohne Probleme.

Aha, das war.
Die DVD muss bis zum Schluss im Laufwerk bleiben!!
Zum Bootproblem: Sind die Stecker an der Platte alle richtig dran?

Gelegentlich hilft bei DELL Rechnern mit diesen Symptomen die Wiederherstellungskonsole und "fixboot"

Dazu muss diese aber installiert sein.
Von der WHS DVD kann die nicht direkt gebootet werden.
Am Besten nach der Installation eine Eingabeaufforderung aufmachen, auf das Laufwerk mit der WHS DVD gehen,
ins i386 Verzeichnis auf der CD wechseln und winnt32 /cmdcons eingeben.

Der Rechner läuft. Die Samsung-HDD war auf 1.5Gbps gejumped. Warum auch immer, es hat anscheinend daran gelegen.
Die Installations-DVD musst ich während der Installation rausnehmen, weil sich eine Endlosschleife nach dem ersten automatischen Neustart ergeben hat. Der Rechner hat die Festplatte jedesmal neu formatiert.

Ich habe genau den gleichen Fehler wie aus dem ersten Post bis jetzt hat nichts geholfen..
Allerdings muss ich dazu sagen das ich WHS komplett von USB Stick installiert habe..
Wo liegt nun das Problem?
Nutze eine Systemplatte von Samsung..
