I have backup setup to run on my synology server at 1:00am. I have lights-out setup to wake my laptop an hour before that and to hibernate my laptop when backup is done. It usually hibernates at ~ 1:05 AM.
When I turn my laptop back on the next morning, it hibernates again within a few seconds. Sometimes I see a flash of the lightsout dialog with the cancel button but it disappears before I can click cancel. The laptop hibernates a few seconds after that.
For a long time this same setup has been working. Sometimes it works after a windows update is installed (and the system is rebooted) but then it starts misbehaving again.
I haven't changed the lightsout settings in a long time.
I am running Windows 11 on my laptop and lightsout version 3.8.0.4945.

Re: Lights Out puts my laptop to sleep when I turn it back on after a backup
Hi Beverly,
This is probably a timing problem. Lights-Out starts the standby after the backup, but Windows' own standby is triggered a little earlier. After resume the Lights-Out standby is therefore processed and this behaviour occurs.
I suggest switching off the Lights-Out standby first and seeing if it works.
Regards
Martin
