I just bought a used workstation for $350, but it didn't have a DVD drive. No big deal, I got a 2 GB thumb drive from work, I can just use that.
Not a chance! It won't boot from it, even though the BIOS is compatable to booting from USB, and for obvious reasons, it didn't. So, to install without a DVD:
1) Copy the Install DVD contents (The ISO you downloaded) to another device or location accessable by the computer
2) Install Windows XP. Use any version, do not worry about activating it. You simply want a Windows GUI so you can install it
3) Navigate to the setup location (Srv2003), and run SETUP. You will be informed that XP can't be upgraded, so just say OK, and continue on. Easy as pie now!
