McAfee Total Protection Service Deinstall / Install

McAfee TPS hatte aus unerklärlichen Gründen das Problem, dass einige McAfee Componenten nicht mehr funktionierten.
Einzige Lösung= Deinstallieren.
leider Funktionierte aber Konsole-->Einstellungen-->Addins-->Deinstallieren nicht.
Nach langen Recherchen in Web bin ich auf folgende hilfreiche und funktionierende (ich ab es selbst probiert) Info bei "Adam's tech Blog" getroffen:

This is a quick article showing how to uninstall McAfee Total Protection from Windows Home Server (WHS). The instructions were not readily available on McAfee’s website as they have removed the KB article “KB64958” from their site.

Here is a link to the uninstaller in case the one mentioned below is not working.

Solution

Before proceeding, McAfee strongly recommends backing up your registry and understanding the restore process. For more information, see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/256986
Do not run a .REG file that is not confirmed to be a genuine registry import file.
If you have to remove Total Protection Service from a Windows Home Server (WHS), it is necessary to remove several registry keys that are removed if you use the following:

Add/remove programs
IMPORTANT: Do not use Add/remove programs to remove Total Protection from WHS. See also KB66148 on severe potential issues.
mvsuninst.exe
To manually uninstall Total Protection from WHS:

Download MVSUninst.exe from http://vs.mcafeeasap.com/MC/enu/vs45/bin/mvsuninst.exe
Run mvsuninst.exe
Restart your computer.
Click start, run, type regedit and press ENTER.
Locate and right-click the following registry key, select Delete and click Yes:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Home Server\KnownAdditions\TopWHSaddin.msi.-8589896854554775808]
Repeat the previous step for the following:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Home Server\RegisteredAdditions\{cfcd4bf6-203d-4213-bab4-3c140954287b}]
Restart your computer.
You are now ready to reinstall the product via the Windows Home Server console Settings screen.

Nun war McAfee Deinstalliert und es war 2 Uhr Nachts.

Jetzt brauchte ich aber wieder die Installation.
Da half mir die Nachricht, die ich an McAfee Online Support gesendet hatte.
McAfee antwortete mit folgender hilfreichen und funktionierenden info:

laden Sie bitte die folgende Software auf Ihr System herunter:

http://www.mcafeeasap.com/downloads/whs ... dIn_v2.msi

Sie muessen die MSI Datei in den Ordner SofWARE/AddIn unter „Shared folder“ einfuegen.
Dann auf die Home Server Konsole klicken und unter einstellungen und AddIn und in der section verfuegbar dann WHS-Tool installieren Knopf klicken.

Dann in die Home Server Konsole einlogen und oben ein neues McAfee Icon (McAfee Support) das bitte anklicken und dan auf die Option Uninstall/ Deinstallieren klicken.

Bitte deinstallieren Sie starten danach neu und gehen ueber (AddInns) um die Software zu installieren.

Nach der Installation bitte erneut den home Server „neustarten“. Dann wieder auf die blaue Home Server Konsole gehen, den roten Total Protection Knopf (rotes M) druecken und Option Aktivieren waehlen. Dort fuer „bestehendes konto“ auswaehlen.

Dann den code eingeben dan sie im Security Center finden.

Den 6 stellingen Code nehmen oder einen neuen erstellen.
