backup failed when scheduled with lightsout

I have lightsout set to wake my laptop and the server to do a backup.
It did wake both systems at the right time but I think it attempted to do a backup before the NAS was ready.
Does Lightsout make any attempt to verify that the NAS is ready before launching the backup?
If it can't do that, is there a way I can make it delay a period of time before launching the backup?


*Also, I noticed that in the lighsout console, it shows my laptop connect and managed but it says that the server is my whs2011 server. I detached from that server and removed the lightsout license from it and then connected to the new NAS. Why is it still saying that the server is the whs2011 server?

I made sure my laptop is no longer managed by the whs2011 server for backups.

Have you uninstalled the WHS Conenctor software from your laptop?

I hadn't done that until now because I didn't think its presence would be an issue. I wanted to keep it until I was sure I had everything migrated over to the NAS and backups were working. I just uninstalled it and the console is no longer saying that the server is the whs2011 server.

Would that have affected the backup timing if I took it out of WHS for backups?
I'll see what the backup does tonight.

Have a look at the selected backup provider. This should now be "Active Backup for Business".

It's working now. Adding the schedule to the task is what did it.

Hmmm, The backup worked and power management seemed to be doing the right thing. Active Backup is checked on the backup tab of the console settings, but "Backup Activity" line in the monitoring pane is still not being hightlighted even though lightsout tells me that a backup is active on the computers tab and in the client. Is that to be expected?

Yes that's a limition for PC backup. If you do a VM Backup activity is signaled. Will try to improve that for 3.0.2.
